Newbound News: An Ohlin

Lloyd, what would we do without him, he was the one who got the gathering happening, he couldn't muster any other Ohlin's but he sure did get the Newbound's stirred up. He organised the great venue, suggested accommodation options, organised the mowing of the grass at the cemetery and I presume he also ordered the birthday cake. Thank you Lloyd from all of us, it was a great day.We don't have a photo of he lovely wife Bernadette but she was there too.

Blog manager

I was born a Newbound and would like to help all the Newbound's in Australia find each other and keep in touch. Our family history is vast and I hope to add whatever old photos, family stories and records I can source to this blog for us all to share and pass on to the next generations. If anyone has anything they would like to share with us all let me know and I'll add it to the blog. If I have incorrect details please make contact and I'll fix them immediately. If anyone doesn't want something shared let me know and I can remove it.

I not only blog about the Newbounds of Australia but I also have a large family tree of all the Newbounds I know who descend from our convict ancestor Roger John Newbound. If anyone who thinks they are on this tree and would like a copy of it email me and I'll send two pdf documents to you; the first is a descendant chart of Roger John Newbound our convict ancestor and a descendant report that also begins with Roger John Newbound and has an overwhelming amount of information.

The posts are stored in the order that I post them, so the latest post is shown first, it may make more sense if you start with the original post which is Clarrie Newbound celebrating his 90th birthday at the Barnawartha Gathering on the 5th November 2011, just click on Older Posts at the bottom of the page to go back.

You can use the labels list to find all posts that relate, such as all the Barnawartha Gathering posts, just click on the label and they'll all be shown on one page. I have also used labels for family members, so if you want to look for all posts about relatives that descend from a common ancestor click on the ancestors name and up come all the posts. I've gone back to Roger John Newbound b1814 who is our convict relative whom we all seem to descend from.

The photos are not all mine, I have scanned and been sent many old Newbound family photos, also borrowed some from The Newbounds of the World group on Facebook, thanks Gavin! Click on any of the photos to bring them up in a larger format. You can also right click on the photos and save them to your computer.
