World Champion in 1972

Brian Morrison the son of Mary Florence Newbound was a gun shearer in his day.  Official records say that Brian broke the record by shearing 410 Merino sheep in 7 hours and 48 minutes. This works out to be one sheep shorn every 1.26 minutes and that includes the time it takes to catch the sheep, adjust the shears etc. Each sheep was actually shorn in about one minute.  The previous record holder, Jimmy Stantopoulos from Tasmania, had shorn only 347 sheep in the same time.

Brian and his wife Judy own and operate their family business Morrisons of Euroa, selling a vast range of quality clothing.  Click on the link and have a look at their website and online store.
